December 1-5

PPCD News:  December 1-5
Reminders
We will be need 12 premade gingerbread cookies(Pepperidge farms or Little Debbie has them)a large roll of gingerbread cookie dough, gumdrops, 2 tubes of red icing and M&M’s  for cooking next week by Wednesday.  We are also in need of a new can opener for our kitchen.  Please comment on Facebook if you are able to bring an item.  If you haven’t already sent extra winter clothes to replace the shorts and short sleeves, please make sure and send some.   Thank you!

Literacy:
Students use the review letters puzzles and name pictures.

The children will count seeds from the pumpkin and make a garden.
The children will make a pumpkin patch with their fingers and count the pumpkins.
Fine motor:
Pre-cutting skills—The children will count vines for the pumpkin patch.
Use child size and adaptive scissors to cut along lines.
Fine motor strength--
We can dig small, tiny objects our of play dough. We will have to really dig and pull. It is great for building muscle strength.
Practicing a functional grasp--
We can use very short crayons to force a functional grasp instead of a fisted grip.
We can use a vertical surface (easel) to encourage students to bend the wrist.
Art
Paint a pumpkin plate and make a leaf hand print.
Practice putting an art smock on and off.
Literacy:
Students use the seasons box to put together puzzles and match pictures.
 What do we wear in Fall?
What color are the leaves in Fall?
